The promoted development projects

Since its establishment in 1996, the TWO WINGS network supports education-oriented development projects that are particularly committed to the improvement of living conditions of women and girls in a lasting way.

In development projects and school institutions in Columbia, Bolivia, Guatemala, Zambia, Iraq, India, Indonesia and China basic skills and knowledge are being conveyed which enable women to provide for their own life-income, to organize and change their lives. Two Wings attaches great importance to the fact that the promoted projects are open to people of all races, ethnics, class and religions and no restrictions exist concerning this matter.

Concerning the distribution of development funds a decision is taken by the North South Advisory Board of the Two Wings Foundation. This Advisory Board consists of four representatives of each the Northern and Southern hemisphere. By this it is guaranteed that development funds will not be requested by the Northern representatives alone – without taking into account the interests of the Southern representatives – but rather the funds will be requested in consensus of the whole Advisory Board. Through this procedure TWO WINGS is taking into account the basic idea of a partnership and a balanced cohabitation between the “North” and the “South” in its network.
